Spectacular portrait of the great Dutch Mannerist, Hendrick Goltzius. The portrait is engraved and the elaborate border is etched with the attributes of printmaking and the artist’s personal motto ‘Eer Boven Golt’ (Honour Above Gold), a play on the artist’s name.

Condition: fair, trimmed to the plate mark, fold mark at centre, loss top left corner repaired with drawn fragment, small tear lower right border (see image below)
