Condition: fine condition, colours very bright. Nicely framed and glazed
Description: Chromolithograph accompanying the article on tattooing from the sixth edition of Meyers Großes Konversations-Lexikons, Leipzig, 1902-1908 showing examples of tattooing from Africa, New Zealand, the Pacific and Japan. Although the image is not attributed in the plate, it is likely to be the work of Gustave Mützel (1839-1893) who produced a number of similar chromolithographs in the publication.
